CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC OFFICE HOURS AND SERVICES UPDATE

The office will remain open during our usual business hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We are seeing patients in the office and offering telehealth encounters as of Monday, 04/27/2020.  To schedule an appointment, please call our office at 703-444-4799 between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.  If you are unable to reach Dr. Crenshaw's staff during business hours, please leave a message on our voicemail system and we will return your call promptly.  If you are unable to reach us after business hours, please leave a message on our voicemail system and we will return your call by the next business day.

We ask that individuals who have any signs or symptoms that are consistent with a possible coronavirus infection to please stay home. These signs and symptoms include fever, cough, fatigue and diarrhea. Less common signs and symptoms can include a loss of sense of smell and taste. If you traveled to an area, within the last 30 days, which has a high rate of coronavirus, please follow your local state and CDC guidelines regarding self-quarantine.

We have taken measures in our office to comply with recommendations to reduce the risk of transmission of the coronavirus. These include attempting to keep our waiting room empty. When patients submit their paperwork required at check in, we will place patients, and their family members, in an individual exam room to fill out their paperwork prior to their encounter with the office staff and Dr. Crenshaw. For individuals coming to the office for an appointment, we ask that you come in with a mask, or similar item, to cover your nose and mouth.  In addition, Dr. Crenshaw and his staff will be wearing a mask.

As has been the case for years, Dr. Crenshaw and his staff will continue to wash their hands prior to, and after, each and every patient encounter. The office and exam rooms are also wiped down with sterile wipes multiple times throughout the day.

Please consult your health insurance company regarding coverage for telehealth encounters. For these encounters, patients will be asked to pay their co-pays as they would for any other office encounter. In addition, your insurance will be billed for the encounter. A telehealth encounter does require both video and audio interactions. Thus, each patient must have a personal computer, tablet or phone with a functioning camera, microphone and speaker. Instructions will be forwarded to patients on how to set up a telehealth encounter using one of the devices described above.

The Inova Loudon Ambulatory Surgical Center is closed from 03/23/2020-05/08/2020. Thus, elective EGD and colonoscopy will not be performed during this period time. However, urgent or emergent EGD and colonoscopy can be arranged at the Inova Loudoun Hospital if clinically warranted.
